A wedding suit is the one garment with a deadline attached, so the work runs backwards from your date rather than forwards from your visit. Three weeks to the first fitting, two fittings before the day, and the whole party cut from one cloth at BTS National Stadium. Send us the date and we will tell you the last day you can start.

01

When to start

Start three weeks before the wedding if you can. That is not the minimum — it is the point at which nothing has to be rushed and a second fitting still has somewhere to go. Counting back from the date:

  • Three weeks out. Measurements taken, cloth chosen, pattern drafted.
  • Two weeks out. First fitting, on a suit basted together rather than finished. Corrections are marked on you.
  • One week out. Second fitting. Small things only by this point — a sleeve length, a trouser break.
  • The last few days. Finishing and a final press.

If your date is closer than that, say so in the first message. It is usually still possible, and when to start a wedding suit sets out what a shorter run costs you.

Three weeks to the first fitting

Three weeks is the gap between being measured and standing in the first fitting with enough of the suit made to judge it. The jacket at that stage is basted — held together with long temporary stitches — so a seam can be opened and moved rather than argued with.

Two fittings before the day

Two fittings are standard. The first finds the real corrections, the second confirms them, and a wedding is the wrong occasion to discover that one fitting would have done. Both happen in the shop.

One cloth across the party

The groom and the groomsmen should be cut from the same cloth, not from cloths that look alike. Two navies from different books photograph as two different colours the moment they stand together in daylight, and no amount of matching by eye in the shop prevents it. One bolt, cut for each body, is the whole answer — bespoke tailoring applied to a group rather than to one man.

  • One cloth chosen once, by the groom or the couple.
  • Each man measured separately and cut to his own pattern.
  • Differences handled in the cut, not by ordering a different cloth.

dressing the groomsmen in one cloth covers the group timetable in full.

Groomsmen of different builds

Different builds are the ordinary case, not the difficult one — a pattern is drafted per man, so a party of six is six patterns and one cloth. What changes between them is the drape and the balance, which is exactly what a fitting is for.

Someone who lives abroad

A groomsman who is not in Bangkok until the week of the wedding is the one real constraint. Tell us early who is flying in and when, and we will plan the party around the people who are here.

The party is rarely only the groom and his groomsmen. father of the bride covers the men who are neither.

Suit or tuxedo

The invitation and the hour decide this, not preference. A wedding before six in the evening is a suit; black tie on the card means a tuxedo whatever the hour. An evening wedding with no stated code can go either way, and the tiebreaker is how often you will wear the thing again — a navy suit has a life outside the wedding and a dinner jacket largely does not. suit or tuxedo for a wedding sets the two against each other properly, and a dinner jacket covers what goes into one.

Cloth for a Bangkok wedding

Weight is the decision that matters here, and it is made against the room rather than the season: Bangkok is warm year-round, so an air-conditioned ballroom and an outdoor ceremony ask for different cloth on the same afternoon. Come and handle the books — a cloth you have felt is a decision, a cloth described to you is a guess. cloth for a wedding in the heat goes through weight, weave and how each one photographs.

Weight

Lighter cloth is cooler and creases sooner; heavier cloth hangs better and holds a press. That is a question to answer with your hands on the cloth in the shop.

How it photographs

Every photograph of the day is taken in light you did not choose. Flat, tight weaves in mid-tones behave; very dark cloth loses its detail indoors and very smooth finishes catch the flash. Look at a length of it under the shop lights and then take it to the window.

05

What it costs

A suit starts from 6,000 THB, and from 12,000 to 22,000 THB in premium cloth; the cloth and what is being made decide where yours falls. For four people or more dressed for the same wedding, every suit comes with a free shirt: 6,000 THB per person instead of 7,200 THB. Bring the date and the party size, and you get a figure before anything is cut. The same applies to how a bespoke suit is ordered here and to tailoring for women for the bridal party. what sets a suit’s price explains what moves the figure.

Booking the party in

  1. Send the date on WhatsApp, with the number of people and where the ceremony is. Say if there is more than one ceremony — a Thai morning and a Western evening are two different outfits, and where a suit fits a Thai wedding covers which half of the day this shop can dress.
  2. Come in together if you can. One visit for the cloth and the measurements is far easier than six.
  3. Keep the two fitting dates free for everyone, about two weeks and one week before the day.

The shop is at BTS National Stadium, exits 3 and 4, open 10am to 9pm every day — see how to find the shop.

Questions people ask

How far ahead should we start a wedding suit?
Three weeks before the wedding is the comfortable answer: that leaves time for a first fitting about two weeks out and a second about a week out, with the last few days for finishing and a press. Shorter runs are usually possible and we would rather you asked than assumed. Send the date on WhatsApp and we will tell you the last day you can start without losing a fitting. Starting earlier than three weeks does no harm at all and takes the pressure off the fittings, which is worth something on its own.
Can the whole wedding party be made here?
Yes, and it is the normal case. The groom and the groomsmen are cut from one cloth, chosen once, with a separate pattern drafted for each man so that different builds are handled in the cut rather than by ordering different cloth. Tell us the party size when you send the date so the fittings can be booked as a block. Six men measured in one visit is six patterns on a single timetable, and the fittings can then be booked as one afternoon rather than six appointments spread over a fortnight.
Do all the groomsmen have to wear the same cloth?
Not necessarily, but one cloth across the party is the better choice. Two cloths that look like the same navy in the shop will photograph as two different colours the moment the party stands together in daylight. One bolt across the party removes that risk entirely, and the differences between the men are then handled where they belong, in the cut. If the groom is to stand apart, do it with a detail rather than a different cloth: a waistcoat when the others have none, a different lining, a working buttonhole.
What if a groomsman lives abroad?
Tell us early. We plan the party around the people who are in Bangkok and book the traveller in as soon as he lands, which for a wedding usually means a fitting the same week. Send his arrival date with the rest of the party’s details, because the whole plan changes depending on whether he lands a week before the wedding or three days before it.
How many fittings will there be?
Two as standard. The first is on a basted suit, held together with temporary stitches so that seams can be opened and moved; the second confirms the corrections. Both are in the shop. A wedding is the wrong occasion to find out whether one fitting would have been enough. If your date is tight enough that only one fitting fits, say so at the order rather than at the fitting, so the first one can be treated as the last chance to catch anything structural.
Suit or tuxedo for a wedding?
The invitation and the hour decide. Before six in the evening is a suit. Black tie on the card is a tuxedo whatever the hour. For an evening wedding with nothing stated, the tiebreaker is how much use the garment gets afterwards, and a navy suit has a far longer life than a dinner jacket. If the card says nothing and the ceremony is in the evening, look at what the couple are wearing and at the venue before you decide, because those two things carry the answer more often than preference does.
What does a wedding suit cost?
From 6,000 THB, and from 12,000 to 22,000 THB in premium cloth. A party of four or more for the same wedding gets a free shirt with every suit, 6,000 THB per person. You get the exact figure before anything is cut. The three things that move it are the cloth, whether the jacket is canvassed or fused, and how many garments are being made, so a party of six in one cloth is a different conversation from one groom in another.
Where is the shop?
At BTS National Stadium, exits 3 and 4, open 10am to 9pm every day including weekends. You do not need an appointment to come and look at cloth, though for a party of several people it helps if you tell us roughly when you are coming. It is inside the station rather than on the street below, which is the detail people get wrong: come up to the station level and it is at the exits. From MBK it is about two minutes.
