Suits cut from a paper pattern drafted for you, at BTS National Stadium Exit 3 and 4. Two fittings are standard and a suit takes two to three days — or twelve hours if you are flying out. For directions from MBK Center and the opening hours, start at the shop at National Stadium. The walk from the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Siam Square and Siam Paragon is set out on a page for each.

01

What bespoke means here

A bespoke suit starts with a pattern drawn for one body. That is bespoke tailoring: nothing is adjusted from a stock block, which is what separates it from made to measure, and everything after that — the cloth, the canvas, the number of fittings — follows from that first decision.

The checks to make on any tailor are set out in what to check before you choose a tailor in Bangkok, one of the guides to choosing a tailor in Bangkok.

Your own pattern, not a block

Your measurements are taken, a paper pattern is drafted from them, and the cloth is cut to that pattern. The pattern stays here afterwards, so a second suit begins at the cloth rather than the tape measure — the pattern your numbers become.

Construction is a separate question from all three — see bespoke against made to measure.

02

How the suit is built

  1. Measure. Over your clothes. Bring the shoes you will wear.
  2. Draft the pattern from those measurements.
  3. Cut the cloth to the pattern.
  4. Baste the suit together for the first fitting.
  5. Fit, mark the corrections, and fit again.
  6. Finish and press.

Every jacket here is canvassed, not fused, and the whole sequence is set out step by step.

Canvassed, not fused

A layer of canvas between the cloth and the lining is what lets a jacket take the shape of a chest and keep it. A fused jacket glues that layer instead, which is faster and does not age the same way. The suits here are canvassed.

Ask at the order whether the jacket is full or half canvas. See what is inside the jacket.

The choices taken at the order

  • Two piece or three
  • Single or double breasted
  • Lapel shape and width
  • Vents, pockets, lining
  • Trouser rise and finish — rise, pleats and the details

03

Choosing cloth

The cloth decides most of how a suit looks, how it wears in this climate, and what it costs. It is chosen in the shop, from the books on the table, with the garment in mind — tailored shirts are chosen the same way, from cloth suited to the piece.

The books in the shop

  • Sirano
  • Cavani
  • Luiciano
  • Lord & Taylor

Those are the names printed on the books on the table. Ask at the shop whether other books are available, and whether these are merchant books or mill books.

Weight for this climate

Bangkok is hot and humid for most of the year, and a cloth chosen for a European winter will be worn twice. Lighter, more open weaves hang better here and recover faster from a day of walking. Ask for the weight when you choose — it is printed in the book.

Bringing your own cloth

You can bring your own cloth and the suit is cut to it, the same as cloth chosen from the books here. Tell us at the order, so the pattern and the cutting plan are set against what you are bringing rather than guessed on the day. Ask when you come in how much cloth a two- or three-piece needs, and whether bringing your own changes the price.

04

Fittings and how long it takes

Two fittings are standard and a suit takes two to three days. The first fitting is where the fit is actually decided; the second confirms it. If you cannot be here for both, ordering from abroad and shipping home explains what changes.

Two fittings as standard

The first is a basted fitting — the suit held together with long stitches so it can be taken apart and corrected. It looks unfinished because it is. That is the point of it. What to bring and what happens on the day are in the first appointment.

2–3 days, or 12 hours

If your flight is sooner, an express suit in 12 hours is possible with fewer fittings. Fewer fittings means less chance to correct — see how many fittings a suit takes.

05

What it costs

A suit starts from 6,000 THB, and from 12,000 to 22,000 THB in premium cloth. The cloth carries most of the cost, and the same jacket cut in two different cloths is two different prices. Choose the garment and the cloth and you have the exact figure before anything is cut; a suit and two shirts is 7,000 THB as a package. what sets a suit’s price explains what moves it, and what separates cheap from expensive explains the three things that actually differ.

06

Two-piece, three-piece, and what changes

A waistcoat adds a third cloth layer, which reads as more formal and wears warmer — worth thinking about in this climate. It also means the jacket can come off at a wedding without the outfit falling apart, which is why so many grooms order one: the waistcoat, and whether you need one. If you are ordering for a wedding party, the same choice comes up for every groomsman, not just the groom.

Why people come back

The shop holds 4.8 from 22 Google reviews. One customer writes that his entire family had suits and shirts made and that the turnaround was extremely quick; another, returning after the move into the station, that a copied shirt was perfect. Read the reviews in full.

Some order again after they have flown home, and the shop ships finished garments abroad.

Questions people ask

How long does a bespoke suit take?
Two to three days on the bench, with two fittings as standard. The calendar around that depends on when you can come back: most people are measured on one visit, fitted a few days later, and collect after the second fitting. Twelve hours is possible if you are flying out, and what you give up is the second fitting rather than the construction. If you have a fixed date, say so at the order and the timetable is planned backwards from it.
What does a suit cost?
From 6,000 THB, and from 12,000 to 22,000 THB in premium cloth. Three things move the number at any tailor: the cloth you choose, whether the jacket is canvassed or fused, and what is actually being made. Every jacket here is canvassed, so the cloth and the garment decide it. Tell us both and you have the exact figure before anything is cut.
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk in any day between 10am and 9pm, including weekends. Messaging on WhatsApp first is still worth doing in three cases: you are on a deadline and want to know before you travel whether it is possible, you are bringing several people and would rather not wait, or you have a question whose answer decides whether you come at all. The number is 085 048 7655 and it is the same for WhatsApp.
Where is the shop?
Inside BTS National Stadium station, on the ticket-hall level, in front of the ticket office, between Exit 3 and Exit 4 on Rama I Road in Wang Mai, Pathum Wan, beside MBK Center. You do not leave the station to reach it, which is the part people get wrong: come up to the station level and the shop is at the exits rather than out on the street below. If you are already at MBK you are about two minutes away, and Siam is one stop along the line.
Are the suits canvassed or fused?
Canvassed. A layer of stiffened cloth is stitched between the outer cloth and the lining rather than glued to it, which is what lets a jacket take the shape of a chest and keep it after it has been worn, cleaned and hung many times. Ask at the order whether it is full or half canvas. You can also check any jacket yourself: pinch the front below the buttonhole and feel for three layers moving independently.
Can I order again after I go home?
The pattern is kept after the first suit, so a repeat order starts at the cloth rather than at the tape measure, and every correction made at your fittings is already in it. That is the case where ordering remotely genuinely works, because the pattern has been proved on your body. Ask at the order how long the pattern is kept. The shop does ship finished garments abroad; ask about the countries and the cost before you plan around it.
Do you make suits for women?
Yes. Suits, jackets, shirts and trousers, cut from a paper pattern drafted for your body by the same hands and the same method as the men’s tailoring, with two fittings as standard. Nothing is a men’s block resized. Trousers on their own are a sensible way to see whether the fit suits you. Dresses and bridal alterations are done here too. Ask before you travel whether a woman on the team can take the measurements.
What should I bring to the first appointment?
The shoes you will wear with the suit, which is the single most useful thing, because trouser length is set against a heel height and a suit hemmed over the wrong shoes needs altering before it is ever worn. Bring a garment that already fits you well if you own one, since it answers questions a conversation struggles with. A photograph of anything you want it to look like helps. And bring your dates: when you fly, when the event is, when you need it finished.

What a customer said

5 out of 5 stars

Excellent service and great attention to detail. The tailor really took the time to understand the style and fit I wanted, and the final suit came out perfectly. The fabric quality is very good, the cutting is sharp, and the fit feels comfortable while still looking elegant.
